Studio Lights Night

Our next meeting on Wednesday 26th April 2017 will be ‘Studio Lights Night’.

There will be three models to photograph – Cherrie, Sara and Shannon and the theme is ‘Prom’ and ‘Evening Wear’.

The meeting will start at 7:00 pm prompt within the Haven Arms, Hedon, HU12 8HH. 

Hedon Photographic club is open to anyone with an interest in digital photography. There is a fortnightly fee of £1:00 per meeting.

Hull and Beyond: Photography Exhibition

As part of City of Culture 2017, the ‘Photography from Hull and Beyond‘ group will be mounting a three-week exhibition from Saturday 15th April until Thursday 4th May 2017.

This will be held at the new gallery space, The Carriage House, Burton Constable Stables.

All images will be available to purchase on the day.

Admission is free with normal charge

 

Street Photography

On Wednesday 29th March 2017 Mike Bland, a local photographic artist is giving a talk at the Hedon Photographic Club on ‘Street Photography’.

The meeting will start at 7:00 pm prompt within the Haven Arms, Hedon, HU12 8HH. 

The club is open to anyone with an interest in digital photography.

Membership costs are £1:00 per fortnightly meeting.

How To Review Photographs

Our next meeting on Wednesday 1st March 2017 will be a discussion on ‘How to review photographs, including giving constructive criticism’.

We will then delegate time to the ongoing series of Photoshop practicals involving post-processing by Keith Britton.

Planning of the Hedon Photographic Clubs two upcoming exhibitions will take place and arrangements for the NEC Photographic Show in March 2017.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year Exhibition will take place at the Beverley Art Gallery. It will run from Saturday 11th February to Saturday 22nd April 2017.

The world-renowned Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, on loan from the Natural History Museum in London, features 100 awe-inspiring images, from fascinating animal behaviour to breathtaking wild landscapes.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year is the most respected photography event of its kind, providing a global platform that showcases the natural world’s most astonishing and challenging sights for over 50 years.

Councillor Richard Burton, East Riding of Yorkshire Council portfolio holder for civic wellbeing and culture said:

“This is truly exciting news, and will really attract people to Beverley. I am delighted that our first major East Riding event in the Hull UK City of Culture 2017 programme will be this stunning exhibition, which is always hugely popular wherever it appears.

It is particularly pleasing that the recent refurbishment of Beverley Art Gallery has allowed us to attract exhibitions of this calibre. There is no doubt that this exciting exhibition will show off the Art Gallery to its full potential”.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year is developed and produced by the Natural History Museum, London. It appears in Beverley as part of only seven UK locations.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s education team have put together a wide and varied programme of fun family events, fascinating talks and learning workshops to support this enthralling exhibition. Booking is essential for some events/activities.

The next meeting on Wednesday 1st February 2017 will be part one of a series of Photoshop practicals.

This will involve a one-hour presentation by Keith Britton and Christopher Story informing us how to remove and replace backgrounds.

We will then split into groups and look at putting theory into action using members images. If YOU have an image that you would like to edit/manipulate/improve, please bring along on a USB drive.
